I am Jonathan Cattle, President of Winfield Consulting SAS. I was born in Cosford, United Kingdom and studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, Edgbaston. I subsequently embarked on a Graduate Training Program with a large multinational, travelling to many UK universities for short courses across all business functions (strategy, finance, sales & marketing, purchasing, human resources, supply chain, etc..). These short courses also allowed me to gain a broad perspective of UK universities and gave me a foundation from which to increase my understanding of the UK University system and UCAS.
During my subsequent industrial management career, I have been responsible for leading and managing people from around the world – motivating, coaching and developing both individuals and teams who have subsequently delivered outstanding results. What I learnt early on in my career is that helping people to develop and grow in the right environment drives engagement, commitment and performance to unimaginable levels. I have never lost this desire, and I now seek to enable all candidates to flourish in a suitable university environment where they will realise their potential.
Supporting my three children through the French system allowed me to acquire a good understanding of this education system, too; the decisions and choices students face Post Bac and Post prépa. Having helped my son and daughter to gain places at universities in the United Kingdom, I have subsequently supported other students who have managed to secure offers at various institutions including Imperial College London, King's College London, Glasgow, Bath, Lancaster, Warwick, Bristol and Durham in the UK. Post Brexit, a growing interest in European and Canadian universities has also broadened the playing field, leading me to assist students with their applications to Bocconi in Italy, IE and ESADE in Spain, Rotterdam School of Management in the Netherlands, and McGill and Concordia Universities in Canada.
A key element of the UK application is the Personal Statement – and I take pride in helping my students to craft their Statement (Or Motivation Letter) to highlight their passion and motivation for their chosen subject, to maximize their chances of success. I enjoy interaction with young people and am empathetic to their situations. Helping them to achieve their potential always gives me great pleasure and satisfaction. Having lived abroad for a long time and travelled widely, I take pride in my multicultural perspective and linguistic abilities.
I am a certified UK Agent (84616) with the British Council.
